Weight-Loss, Fitness and Money

Surprisingly true post!!


I don't know how money is being part of all my posts these days!
But nothing wonders me, as i have started this blog, being that as my intention.

Today i wanted to take you through the journey which i went through to loose 09-10 Kgs weight.
And how many diversions it took, were i found the solution?(Of course, i would share the solution with you too ;)).



First to start with, me and my friends were checking our weights and when i checked all were shocked! because i have gained almost 6kgs in just 2.5 months!!
I was constantly stuck @ a number for years, but when i saw the weight that day, i did not know how this happened!(I know many of us tell this, how this happened i don't know! instead of admitting our lazy life's!)

My height is 5.4' and when i checked weight that day i was 72!! were in i was constantly sitting @66-67 for almost 2 years.

Now that was high time for me, my physician directly said me can you stop eating more?
i felt disgusting but, true she was. and luckily that was December. and i trust in new year resolution So for 2013 my resolution was to loose 10 kgs weight.

Here starts the whole new story, which  moved me to a new phase of life!!


So as soon i started of weight loss, first thing came to my mind was GYM....
As i was already in the urge to loose weight soon (later i came to know how foolish it was to think so) went to a local GYM nearby and looking at my anxiety the GYM instructor said as you want to loose weight soon, i suggest you personal training!!


Personal training? i did not even think if i needed that? if i can stick to it or not.
once he said straight away 6 months fees i paid and came back home saying from monday i will start working out!!

Here comes sunday, the day i spent in buying so called branded outfits for Gyming.

All Set for monday, sunday night i slept early because monday morning i have to HIT gym and Personal training... am super excited!!

What happened from monday, i will leave it for your thinking for today shall blog it up in my next post soon!!

Money And You!!

Money And You!!


I wanted to write this post on Money And You, To share some of the things which i have seen around me! since almost many years for now. And am surprised that we did not even notice about this!

I do not know how i can get this up to you, but i am trying to put across the facts about money and saving it!

Let me start this with a recent example:-

I went to my friends house to spend the weekend with her, before our conversation started. we both thought of having a cup of coffee! so she was trying to prepare it and asked me to grab the milk from the refrigerator. I went and opened the door to collect milk and am chocked!!

Refrigerator was filled up with so many things which i did not even know what they are!
i called my friend to find out what they are( thinking i might be missing on recent food Trends)

But i got an answer which was surprising to me!

She said " i don't know, Last week when i went for shopping there were some offers in the super market and i tend to buy them". Now i have to find out what they will be used for and utilize them!!

After getting this answer, i started thinking of the old shopping system we had and the recent one.

My mom used to write list of things needed for a month, and my dad used to get the same!



Needed is the word which we have to rethink.

My Mom used to think so many times and write the grocery list. She even had a budget for this! and if i correctly remember the grocery bought were sufficient for a month with out re-purchasing them.

Now a days what we do is we go to any super market to get 1 grocery item and see the offers and tend to buy them even if we need them or not!

Don't you think we are doing this? Can you recollect some of the recent activities?

Why are we spending money just for the things which we do not use?
it is not about 1 person am talking about, i have seen so many working people in the super markets dong the same!



Money once spent can't be got back!! if you are capable of earning doesn't mean you can spend it for a thing which is of no use.

Rather give it to a poor child who doesn't have food or cant go for school! don't you think we have to think before we spend?

Tips @ Home

Tips @ Home

Now that i have said Save Money in my earlier post HERE, i also am trying to follow the same post with some tips which can be helpful for gals out there.

These can be used when ever we try to do facial by our selves @ home.

"Rather using the so called chemical for facials, try using the home available stuff. To keep you more younger "


Cleansing Milk:-

1.) Milk:- Use Normal Milk to cleanse your face the best ingredient which can be used.
2.) Coconut Milk:- This also can be used as a cleanser as it has moisturizer which is helpful for dry skin.

Scrubs:- Scrubs remove the dead skin and opens pores


1.)Lemon and Sugar:-  It is one of the best ways to peel dead skin and blackheads. Take a cup of granulated sugar and add one teaspoon of lemon juice to it. Add six tablespoons of almond oil to the same and use it as a body scrub. Keep it on for a while. Then scrub and wash off.
2.) Green Tea Sugar Scrub:-The second one which is very good for anti aging too. Take a cup of green tea, let it cool down and add a tblsp of sugar to it. Let the mixture become almost solid. Now add lil honey to it and use this as scrub.

Face Packs:- Apart from the face packs we get in shops, easy face packs with ingredents @ home can be prepared.

1.) Ripe banana:- Just take a ripe bananaand massage it on your face, leave it for 5 minutes and wash it off
2.) Papaya:- Follow the same procedure
3.) For uplifting face use egg white as face pack weekly twice.

Money Saving - Part I

Saving Money @ Home.

"Money once spent, can't be got back"
Yes, this is true we all would have experienced this by now!!
But did we stop and think on how to save money?


I have done it in some cases, and though this would be helpful if i share this on my BLOG!


We being gals are very found of beauty and beauty products, and spend our money on those which ever says that will make you fair!

First of all we have to decide which is necessity and which is luxury for us and go accordingly!

You can understand were you are spending your money by using a simple trick.



Take a book and just write down your monthly expenses! though this sounds old way trust me this is the best thing you can ever do to find out your mistakes.



What i have found and what i did?

Yes, for me monthly twice a facial to get glow on my skin was very important. and i was blindly spending between 1200-2000 for 1 facial.
So for a month i was spending approximately 4000 on this! i felt 4K isn't a small amount to spend for a house wife like me, i understand, if there is necessity to do so. but before getting in to the parlor think once if it is really needed.

You can get your facial done by your self by spending 45-60 mins in a day. And by saving approximately 2000 in a Month.

Don't you think, if you do your own facial it is more hygiene than going to parlous and getting skin rashes?

I have mentioned some of the face packs which are effective for dry skin in my below posts. i wouldn't say just refer my posts. You have many online sites were you can find this information.You just have to spend some of your time on this. thats it.and you will get this information.


All you need is little patience and planning

Before saying i don't have time i cant do it myself, just give it a try once, doing facial for yourself isn't rocket science. And our elders used to do this by them selves always!

Spending money is a minute task, to earn it is a circus.

So please think before you spend!!

Weight Loss, MOTIVATION.....

MOTIVATION.

Yes, i also have gone through this phase of life were i go to gym and do dieting strictly from Monday to Friday.... and Saturday i go with my family and hop crazily and get those calories back :(

To make it clear, weight loss is not a day or a week result, its life style change!!



To keep us on track we have to get motivation from things around us...
Either your best friend can help you in this or there are many online stuff which will keep you on track. i would like to share some of them here.

1.) MFP:- My Fitness Pal this can help you in understading 
how many calories you have taken?
how many calories you need in a day?
how many calories you spent in a day in exercise?

a very helpful tool

2.) You tube:- i used to use youtube to see motivational video, the most effective person i felt was
amyNicolax who has lost a good amount of weight and kept herself motivated. and is practical in her approach.
Sapna Vyas Patel, you can even check this version.

3.)You can browse many websites which are available online for getting motivated...but before giving up saying i am not loosing weight please think that we gained this weight for years and expect to cut this off in days/weeks.

Weight Loss!!

Weight Loss, Walking.

Weight loss the most buzzing word, due to jobs which makes us to stick to chairs we all are crossing the borderline of over weight and now moving to Obese.



I also moved to this borderline and saw all scarcities with this.
Health issues, stress, anxiety and many more.

By changing very few things in your day to day activities you can make it up.

I see many people trying to loose weight, for a month and then say am not loosing weight. and stop all the trials.

Be practical, you have put on this weight in so many years and you think a month is sufficient to start loosing weight?

Below are some changes which i have made myself and found the result.

1.) Start.... Yes, first thing you have to do is you have to start it. never think in a month you will achieve your goal. keep long term goal initial days will be for managing your weight. so step back take a deep breath. weight loss isn't fr a month or day it is for a healthy life.


2.)Exercise.... start walking daily a minimum exercise which can be done by anyone at anyplace. the only concept is start your walking with 10,000 steps. make sure you do not leave this practice at any time. By walking daily  it will become a habit. a healthy habit.

3.) Eat Clean.... When you start eating clean this means you have started understanding your body. Exercise 40 : Food 60 this is how the ratio works. Do not think you can change yourself just by selecting this 1, either food or exercise. but health weight loss is combination of both.


These are some of the minimum changes which can be done by anyone, apart from this motivation is more important factor.

Meditation

Meditation for beginners

Isn't a easy thing to start with, in this busy life we are overloaded with stress and anxiety on its high levels. which in-turn is cause of many health issues...

Even i tried to meditate for more than some months, but still i feel i can only be on for very less time.
The time you have to meditate is as below
Your age=minutes
if you are 25 years, try meditating for 25 mins in a day..

Some of the tips which helped me are as follow:-

  • Initially start with 2 mins of meditation.... Yes, you heard it correctly just try to close your eyes for 2 mins and concentrate on your breathing.
  • Do not change your breathing pattern, just observe your breathing.
  • Initially you have so many thinking striking to your mind which tries to disturb your silence. be practical and accept it.
  • Slowly increase the time of the practice, best time to perform this practice is morning 6 or evening 6.
  • it isn't compulsory for this time, even before you go to bed,fr 10 mins you can try doing this.
  • If you cant take silence, you can meditate by playing silent music, or even OM. you can get this in youtube as well.
Instead of so many anxiety medicines, it is very great if we can control our thoughts which will inturn reduce our stress and anxiety.

PS:- please avoid Mobile phones and other smart devices when trying for meditation!! better if you can sit in a dark room initially to get catch of silence.

Enjoy what ever you do this will help you to get rid of stress too.

Double Chin

Reduce Double Chin

All Beautiful Gals who does not like double chin like me!!
Here are some tips for reducing it....

I am an example, i had very bad double chin.... after following below routine now i do not have this double chin anymore :)

i am happy to share these with you all...

Earlier my face was like pumpkin so it is obvious i had my chin lagged down. have researched so much to get rid of this.

Very simple things will resolve this issue.

1.) Chin Exercises:-

a.) Just lift your head towards sky and count 10 and down. 5 counts
b.) Lift head and make a pout count 10 and come down. 5 counts
c.) Make sure you use face packs which helps in tightening. like egg white mask, gram flour pack.

TAN Removal Packs

TAN Removal Packs:-

Summer is almost on its heights, with out sunscreen it is not wise to even step out. but as we already know sunscreen just works for 2 to 3 hrs after applying.... if i have to go out for more than 2.... i have to carry face wash & sunscreen with me...

I personally do not like carrying so many things with me... so was thinking to share these tan removal packs with you... which is beneficial and useful.

1.) Every first step for any pack is use normal milk to cleanse you face thoroughly than using cleansing milk. this helps in cleansing and keeping the moisturizer as well.

2.)You can use Curd alternative days to get rid of tan, a very useful home remedy.

3.) Try this pack weekly once:-
Rice flour and milk..mix rice flour with milk and apply this on face leave it for 10 mins and rinse off.

Try these out instead of expensive tan packs of chemicals in parlous.

It just takes 20-30 mins of time and is healthy one, chemical free and less expensive....

Easy Scrubs @ home!

Do you think to remove tan only tan removal packs have to be used? not really we can use home made scrubs to get rid of tan and dead skin!!


Makes 400ml (12oz)
1/2 cup olive oil*
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 tbsp honey
a few drops of your choice of essential oil (optional)**

Put the sugar into a bowl and add the olive oil and honey. Work it all together until it is evenly combined. It will be like wet sand. If you want to add some essential oil (I used peppermint), add it a few drops at a time and stir it in and check if it smells how you want.
Put into an airtight jar, ideally with a wide mouth so you can scoop a bit out with your hands when you need it.
You Can prepare some scrubs @ home itself like:-
1.)    Take some cream which you have at home mix sugar with it and apply on face and scrub.
2.)    Green tea water(2 bags green tea) add sugar 1 sppon and honey 1 spoon to it and scrub
3.)    Coconut water, sugar and lime a gud scrub.



P.S:- Before scrub always clean your face with cleansing milk(or normal Milk) after scrub wipe off with luke warm water.

Things TO DO!!

Some things which you should never forget!!



1Ø  Wash your face with clean and cold water daily first thing in the morning, and say today will be the best day ever.
Ø  Take 3 glasses of warm water to get rid of gastritis (1 glass add lime and cinnamon). Try with 1 glass initially and increase it to 3.
Ø  Drink 8 Oz of liquid per day (Juices exclude sugar).
Ø  Walk in a park where you can get more of oxygen, rather walking in a gym.(try once you can make difference yourself.
Ø  Do not skip your breakfast; eat carbs and protein as Breakfast.
Ø  Have habit of tea? Try ginger tea rather normal tea or green tea.
Ø  Prepare bf @ home rather buying it, be organic.
Ø  Do not use plastics much, reduce the usageof plastic,
Ø  Wash your hair alternative days, and let it dry naturally do not use dryer.

Ø  Pack your lunch from home, rather buying it, eat fat carbs for lunch.
Ø  After dinner sit a while, after supper walk a mile. Follow this.
Ø  After breakfast before lunch have a fruit.
Ø  Do not drink sodas.
Ø  Sandwich lovers? Replace your bread to brown/wholegrain bread.
Ø  Reduce coffee, go rich on green tea
Ø  Evening snack on a fruit.
Ø  Go for a walk with team evenings.
Ø  Do not stick to your chair.
Ø  Computer users after every 30 mins look at far distance for 10 secs.
Ø  Sit in dark room for 15 mins every day
Ø  Do not take pills for sleep.
Ø  Enjoy the sleep, get rid of your smart phone at this time.

Small Changes, but will make lot of difference try them out.

Hobbies

Does this word Hobby, looks familiar to you?

Do you have any hobbies?


Lets first understand why we need to have hobbies....

  1. Improves concentration:- wondering why? as our stress levels are more these days we are not able to give time for our-self. just try engaging your self in your favorite hobby. this keeps your mind happy and you can improve your concentration too.
  2. Indulges your free time:- Indulging your free time in your favorite pass time, will really be a happy day for you
  3. Peace of mind:- Obviously when we are happy with our hobbies in our free time we tend to find peace of mind
There are many kind of hobbies which are lost in transit, just enhance your hobbies back and you can find lot of change in your life!!

Some of them are
Painting, listening to music, book reading, Pottery, music....

Also these days kids, i do not find them getting engaged in hobbies, which isn't good.
please get back the old concepts and engage your kids in any of there favorite hobbies!!

Hair Conditioners @ home!!

After a hair wash, when i look @ conditioner i really get scared to use my conditioner. because many conditioners once i use i have lot of hair fall instantaneously!!

So i tried some home made conditioners which are really quick and results are just awesome.
Some of them are as below.


  • Conditioner #1:-
1tsp honey
1 fresh lemon juice
1/4 warm water

After finishing shampooing, simply pour through hair, let it dry!
Note:-No need to rinse!! 

  • Conditioner #2:-
Henna
lemonjuice(11/2tbsp)
thick curd/beat well apply for 40min.
Shampooing after that.


  • Conditioner #3:-
2tbsp-honey
Henna
Ripe & crushed banana

Make a fine paste and coat to the hair top to bottom, to get silky & life hair), allow to sit for 40 minutes.
Shampooing later.

  • Conditioner #4:-
Beat 1 cup of curd/yogurt
add henna
1/2 lemon juice
tea/coffee decoction.
Mix well and allow to keep overnight in a iron bowl.

Apply to the hair on the next day, cover with a plastic cover and let it work for 35-40 min. Shampoo it & rinse well.
Preferably once a month.

  • Conditioner #5:-
Apply the juice of beetroot to the hair, wait for ten minutes and rinse with warm water.!

  • Conditioner #6:-
1-Banana
1/4cupHoney
Henna3 tbsp

Mix them together to a smooth paste and apply to the hair, let it dry. leave it for 20-25 min. Rinse well

  • Conditioner #7:-
At least apply once a week with apple cider vinegar, after taking head bath for  shining & leafy hair.

All these Conditioners, doesn't have any chemicals in them and are good for hair and avoids hair falls.

Dry Skin Face Masks @ home!!

Hey all,

I know how dry skin acts weird, and it is not that tough to get it back at least to normal.
some of the packs which can be done at home and give good results(which i have personally tried)

1.) Egg & honey.

Ingredients:
Eggs
Honey
Olive Oil

  • Take egg white mix it well, later add half spoon honey half spoon olive oil .
  • Cleanse ur face with milk, and wipe with wet cotton.
  • and apply this pack to face and leave it till dry and wipe it with warm water.

2.) Banana & Yogurt Mask.

Ingredients:
Ripe banana
Honey
Yogurt
  • Take Ripe Banana and add honey 1/2 spoon and 1/2 spoon yogurt
  • After cleansing your face apply this to your face and leave it untill dry.
3.) Avocado & honey Mask.

Ingredients:
½ very ripe, soft avocado
¼ cup honey

Mix both of them in a bowl and apply to face, a very good mask for extreme dry skin.

4.) Milk layer & honey mask

Ingredients:
Milk Layer
Honey
Turmeric

Mix all these ingredients apply on the face and massage for some time. Later leave it on face for 10 mins

All these masks can be done with ingrdents easily available @ home and just takes 15 mins of you time!!

Home made easy body scrubbing & Massage!!

Hey all,

When i was kid, i remember my grand mom and mom used to run behind me at least monthly once...
wondering why? guesses??
the biggest punishment for me when i was kid was oil massage and head bath...
it used to be so complicated stuff phewwwww.
Now after grown up as shampoos are here and people do not have time for body massage and scrubbing which can be easily made @ home.

The disadvantage of this is:-
Dead skin is not removed from body.
Blood circulation will be increased after body massage, which isn't good.

At least once in a month this is a MANDATORY task,please make sure you do it!!


Steps in getting oil massage @ home:-

  • Take either olive oil or mustard oil for this massage, apply firmly from toes to neck spend 30 mins in massaging. near all joints make a firm massage. by adding 2 spoons salt to this oil u can easily use it for body scrubbing, which also helps in body relaxing and blood circulation.
  • This also removes dead skin from body, i have seen lot of difference after this!
  • Once this is done use a cotton cloth and dip in lukewarm water and wipe it off, let there not be too much water, once wiped use a dry cloth and wipe off the wetness.
  • Now take oil and start massaging, because after earlier step which is scrubbing, your body now will loose moisturizer from body so use oil to retain it back.
  • After properly massaging, u can take steam if available, if not take hot water and a turkey towel, dip the towel in water squeeze water and use this for steaming.
  • You can find very good relaxation.
  • After this u can use gram floor and turmeric as a paste with 1 spoon honey and appy to body and leave for 5 mins and scrub it.
  • now take hot water bath!!! you are done

Yes, i agree tedious process, but the result is extremely good!!

you can get a cool sleep after this, you will definetly feel in the appearance of your skin, no chemicals!!

Hair Care @ home!! our basics

Hey all,

Lets talk about our hair care @ home today!! hair is so important to gals, it makes us look even more beautiful!! isn't it?

I see now a days, many of us have hair loss reasons could be many
Example:- Hormonal imbalance, pollution, stress........

But these all have solutions, it is just that we should have little more patience for our selves, rather eating 3 tablets which has sooo many side effects, dnt you think spending some time on us makes lot of difference?
Yay Yay? think about it if your answer is Yes then please continue reading :) these might help you gals!!

Try and understand your hair and scalp!!
I know ppl will say i have this long hair i see daily what is there to understand...
but try differentiating


  • Dry or oil or normal hair
  • Dandruff?
  • Splits?
  • Hair falling?
Once you are done with this!! lets think about past was there a single day were we went to our schools with out mom oiling our hair?
How many days in a week we used to shampoo our hair?

When basics are so important in our life, why are we forgetting/ignoring them?
i understand now pollution is more so we shampoo our hair more, but with out oiling hair shampooing is like killing hair!!


So the basic step is Oiling your hair frequently....
1.) Use coconut, castrol, mustard or olive oil heat it and massage it to your scalp this will increase blood circulation to head and will open up pores.
2.) Apply oil with cotton rather with hair it will equally help in spreading the oil on scalp.
3.) Wrap a warm towel to your hair or use steam. let the oil sit on your head for 1 or maximum 2 hours
4.) shampoo it, do u remember soapnuts? try them monthly once!! does really clear off your dandruff
5.) if you have dry hair use soap nuts with hibiscus leaves(4 to 5)
6.) dry hair properly not under fan or hair dryer, these spoil the quality of the hair :(

Some basic hair packs:-


  • Soak two spoons methi overnight morning grind it to paste and apply to hair(reduces hair loss, moisturizes hair, helps in hair re growth)
  • After oiling before 10 mins to head bath, apply egg white and leave it untill it dries.(Protein for hair)
  • Try banana ripe one, good conditioner
  • Apply hair pack 15 days once which comprises of Amarnath leaves, green leaves, betroot, mehndi leaves, egg full, and tea decotion. leave it for 2 hrs and apply to hair and leave it till dry wash your hair once dry, apply coconut oil and next day morning shampoo it!! u will defnetly love it
Eat greens and veggies more include 3 to 4 fruit servings!!
Exercise do yoga (shirsasana, haalasana)
Almonds are too good for hair and complete body have them!

Ask your grandparents what they used to do!!

Pedicure!! @ home

Hey all,

Did we ever think pedicure can be done @ home? rather in parlours?

which can save money and make you explore yourself. if we do it @ home, we can do it monthly 3 times which is actually good for legs.

let me take you through easy steps to do pedicure @ home!

Requirements:-


  • Nail polish remover
  • Baby shampoo
  • Detol
  • Olive oil 1 spoon
  • Rock Salt
  • moisturizer


Steps:-
  • Remove nail polish, prepare a tub with warm water and mix baby shampoo, detol, olive oil and rock salt. You can add some fresh flower petals or oils like lavenders
how does ingredients help?
  1. rock salt helps in removing the dead skin on feet.
  2. Olive oil helps to retain moisturizer.
  3. shampoo removes dirt from legs.
  4. detol helps in healing cracks and wounds.
  • place your feet and let it be in for 10 to 15 mins, those who have more cracked heels or dead skin soak for more time.
  • remove the feet out and now start using the brush shown above which will help in removing the dead skin, and brush your feet completely so that it removes dead skin above feet too.
  • use shampoo on feet while using brush so that it would not hurt.
  • now remove the legs out and wipe completly and apply moisturiizer , this is a must after pedicure as it helps in retaining the moisturizer back.
  • Apply nail polish and you are done :).

Home Made facial steps

Facial @ parlours are little tough these days, because our skin is gettng reacted to many of the so called chemicals.
i have a quick question, even our ancisters had the same skin what we have.
so does this means, they have the same facials and beauty saloon?

How to cleanse face @ home?

Did you know we many tyms say cleansing milk? which means normal milk also can be used as a cleanser.
Yes, you heard it correctly take a cup of milk and a cotton apply this milk clock wise and anti clock wise for 5 mins and wipe off with the cotton.

Tip:- apply this milk to neck and back as well this will help in removing ALL the dust from your face and milk is a self moisturizer so dsnt harm your skin :)

How to steam your face @ home?

After cleansing is complete wipe the face off! now steam the skin to open the pores out
Steaming can be wither done with steamer, those who do not have steamer boil water in a bowl and dip the turky hand towel in it and cover the face with it leaving the nose open.
this allows the pores to open

Tip:- always steam face for 10 to 15 mins as it helps in opening the pores and lets the dead skin out

How to scrub your face @ home?

Did you ever try sugar and olive oil as scrub? you will never regret use it!! also u can add honey instead of olive oil a very gud scrub for all Skin types!

Tip:- Do clease face for 10 min in circular motion to remove the black heads and keep skin fresh.

How to massage face @ home?

Now lets talk something about skin types:-

Dry :- Banana& honey, Papaya, layer of milk & turmeric & honey
Oil :-Fruits like apple or banana
Normal: all above

take the ingredents available in your house and start massaging clock wise and anti clock wise for 15 mins. initially lil tough but trust me once you get used to it very easy!!

How to get face pack @ home?

lets answer this question before we go further,
Why do we need a mask

  • Tighten skin
  • Glow
  • remove small marks

Yes, mask is used to perform the above actions
Egg white can be used as mask
Papaya
Banana
Gram flour mixed with milk and turmeric

all the above can b used as pack kp it on face for 10 mins cover you eyes with cotton pads with rose water or cucumber pieces

and rinse this off

Last but not least now we have pampered our face, to conclude we have to always apply moisturizer. this is normal one which u have at home

You are done with the facial, to get gud affect do not apply any checmicals like soap or face wash over night!!

Take a Vitamin E capsule and open it on your face.and give your face a light massage. Let it soak for 30 minutes. Take egg white and apply it on your skin and let it soak for 30 minutes and then rinse with cold water. These two home made remedies can help you get rid of your acne and open pores problems and with its regular use, your skin will become smooth and radiant within few days....
